my thoughts and advice (for what it's worth)!

Don't despair, there are people out there who share your worries. I know it feels like the end of the world but you can turn your life around.

Try Avodart/Finasteride and Minoxidil before you do anything else. It may not work for you but before committing to surgery what have you got to lose (apart from money, I know...).

Cut/shave your hair very short. Yes you will hate it at first  but do not make a decision until a few months have passed and you can make a valued judgment on how you actually look. How does this look? Do you really want a transplant? The very short hair option may not be for you but think about it. It's a good idea to combine the shaved head with the pills and lotions for six months (much easier for the minoxidil to be applied to a shaved head).

If you do decide on transplants then do your homework, go on the forums (see links - I post on all the forums under the username 'Whoops'), ask a lot of questions and see/speak to former patients before deciding on a Doctor. Can you speak to the Doc? If not - don't give him your business.  Don't make distance to travel an option - the best doc's are not always next door and flights are very cheap these days and a relatively small part of your outlay.

Good luck!
